Renee Walter: Backyard containers

A Kumquat tree and a Dwarf Navel  were planted in 32" Glazed green containers. They were filled with Blackfoot Daisies and sweet potato vines. Both are drought resistant and can withstand the Arizona sun and heat. These containers are close to 3' in height, enabling the tree roots to have plenty of room to grow. By containerizing the citrus trees they will not get to a size as they would if planted in the ground.

A Gardenia was planted behind the Kumquat tree. The protection of the tree and pillar gave this Gardenia the perfect place to thrive. They need shade and protection from our Arizona sun and heat. The flowers have the most delightful spice scent. One of my favorite shrubs.

A variety herbs (basil, oregano, mint and yerba mansa) were grouped together by the fountain.

24" glazed containers sit on the patio filled with agapanthas, sage, lavender and rosemary. The mixture of aromas are soothing to the senses and the butterflies and hummingbirds would be attracted to the flowers.

A succulent bowl sits among the rocks and flagstone steps.
